Right now it is just us: the Quinlan’s. May Jesus keep us small until we are ready to show Him off. We don’t seem to be very good at fellowship yet. Our biggest problem is the tall one in the photo. He is a mess. If God can straighten him out, we might be on to something.

 

Our goal is high. We want to be like Jesus. HE IS our goal. If He hadn’t invited us to come and be one with Him, we would have to agree that this is impossible, but rather than make Him a liar, we will believe His promise and seek Him with all our hearts.

 

He is currently emptying us of our confidence in ourselves so that we might be filled with confidence in Him. That is painful and humiliating for the moment, but we are sure we will reap a reward that will last forever. He IS that reward.

 

Jesus is also our doctrine. We believe that the Bible is about Him and that He is the fulfillment of all the Law and the Prophets. He also seems intent on writing that Law on OUR hearts and making of us a declaration to our generation. Ouch. If you have no intention of reading the Bible, you can learn a lot about it by watching us. We are making the same mistakes the Patriarchs and the Apostles did. He is disciplining us and rebuking us just like He did them. He is also blessing us with Himself the way He did them. He is no respecter of persons. For that we are grateful.
